2022 Events
Spanish Peaks Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and Fun Run, Sunday September 18.
An out and back run on Highway 12, the scenic Highway of Legends, designated a National Scenic Byway in February 2021! This course includes a gradual outbound ascent totaling 756 feet of elevation gain and a smooth, even downhill cruise when the first half’s work is done. The turning point is arguably at one of the most scenic areas of the Highway of Legends with the stone dike formations looming to the east.
The 4th Annual Spanish Peaks Half Marathon includes a half marathon relay option as well as a fun run.
Register online at active.com or download the registration form here and mail with payment to Two Peaks Fitness, PO Box 905, La Veta CO 81055. Packet pickup and on-site registration the morning of the run at La Veta Town Park, or Saturday September 18 from 2-6 pm at Two Peaks Fitness, 216 S Main St, La Veta.

2020 Events
Spanish Peaks Half Marathon and Fun Run
Saturday October 3, 2020 – 40 runners completed the 2020 Spanish Peaks Half Marathon, part of the RaBa Cinco Series. Overall winners were Kermit Snyder of Rocky Ford (1:28:49) and Amber Ramirez of Raton (1:48:48). View the full results.
The first place finisher in the 6th Annual Fun Run was Kestrel Cservenak of Pueblo.

Awards for the Half Marathon were as follows:
- Male & Female “Under 40” – first, second, and third place (total 6 awards)
- Male and Female “Age 40-54” – first, second, and third place (total 6 awards)
- Male and Female “Age 55 and over” – first, second, and third place (total 6 awards)
The 2020 RaBa Team Champion was Team Las Animas County.
2019 Events
La Veta Oktoberfest Half Marathon
Saturday October 5 – 33 runners completed this inaugural event. Race results are at http://www.ccrtiming.com/events-results/2019-results/La%20Veta%20Oktoberfest.htm. Top overall winners were Scott Pfahler of Aurora (1:26:12) and Heidi Clarke of Castle Rock (1:34:43).
